According to Lamborghini aficionados, one of the best Lamborghinis ever built was the Diablo VT 6.0L. Only 136 Diablo VT 6.0Ls were built for the U.S. market, but this particular example is one of only two known to have been finished in the subdued but memorizing hue of Monterey Blue. When the VT 6.0 was introduced, it astonished “Motor Trend” magazine writer and lead test driver Mac Demere with its all-wheel-drive chassis effortlessly channeling the thunderous 575 HP V-12 from 0-60 MPH in a mere 3.4 seconds.
Use the 5-speed manual transmission in conjunction with a proper launch and the VT 6.0 will finish the quarter-mile in less than 12 seconds at around 120 MPH on its way to a 204 MPH top speed, marking it as one of the highest performance cars in the world. The major service was completed on this car less than 1,000 miles ago, including valve adjustment, oil and filter change, front and rear differential fluids, gearbox fluids, spark plugs and both the air and cabin filters. With only 22,973 original miles, this car will be sold with the original equipment exhaust, but currently employs a Lamborghini Orange County LOC exhaust system.
The front lift system helps ensure the car will have an easier time negotiating driveway aprons. The striking optional OEM carbon-fiber rear wing is crafted of blue woven carbon fiber lending a remarkable visual to the overall image of the car while providing an additional level of stability at speed. The tail lights are nestled in carbon-fiber surrounds, which also blends with the rear mesh grille stretching from one side to the other, creating a more completed, aggressive black-insert look.
Inside, the Oyster-colored upholstery is offset by black carpeting and dashtop, with carbon-fiber trim lending some aesthetic depth from the center console, steering wheel, center stack, instrument cluster and Alpine stereo with remote. Sold with both its tools and manuals, this Monterey Blue Diablo VT 6.0L is a rare opportunity indeed.
