The first XJ was launched in 1968 and the designation has been used for successive Jaguar flagship models ever since. The original model was the last Jaguar saloon to have had the input of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder. With the introduction of the X308 generation in 1997 came a switch from the 'XJ6' nomenclature to 'XJ8', reflecting the fact that the X308 cars were powered by a new V8 engine. In 2007 the X308 was facelifted and internal designation changed to X358 with a revised front grille, deleted mid-door trim and slightly redesigned front fenders and vehicle electronics systems were updated.
First registered 2009 in Japan, this fabulously presented example was imported to the UK in the Spring of this year and granted its UK registration of LJ59 VPF on 1st May. A late final edition example presented in Ultimate Pearl Mica with Barley piped trim and sitting on 20" Takoba alloy wheels, this last of the production run comes with many unique features and benefits from being ULEZ compliant and a sensible tax bracket of £360 a year. Our vendor has had the car converted to a full UK specification including odometer reading in miles, UK satellite navigation and radio.
Some of the specification includes Xenon headlamps, front and rear parking sensors, cooled and heated 18-way electric seats, speed limit/cruise control, Jaguar embossed headrests, double glazed windows and aluminium sill tread plates. With Totally original paintwork that has been machine polished with ceramic sealer, an original full handbook pack and two keys alongside a service history from new right up to 46,151 miles, we are informed this car is from a non-smoker and pet free ownership and the owner declared ‘it runs and drives to perfection’.
