Finished in black with red pinstripes, the beige interior beige features English walnut trim, air conditioning, Harmon Cardon AM/FM stereo with tape deck and 6-CD changer. It's powered by a fuel-injected 4.0-liter V8, double overhead-cam engine with 5-speed automatic transmission. It also features traction control and cruise control. It has had recent cylinder head and cooling system work. It also has near-new tires, brakes and K&N air filter. It rides on Jaguar Asteroid alloy wheels wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact Z-rated tires for superior traction in mud and snow. Other features include programmable three-setting driver's seat and side-view mirrors and garage-door opener.

For convenience, it has auto-dim rearview mirror, power windows, trunk latch, steering wheel and door locks. It also has fog lamps, security system, heated front and rear seats and rear seat fold-out snack trays. The Vanden Plas interior trim packages were available on various Jaguar, Daimler and Land Rover luxury vehicles. Starting in 1982, Jaguar began equipping some XJ series cars intended for the American market with some Vanden Plas interior trim.
