Ford have never been slow when it comes to developing sporting versions of their standard cars but surprisingly, it took six years before a genuine performance version of their little Fiesta arrived. The transverse-mounted 1,598cc OHV four-cylinder with Weber twin-venturi carburettor generated 84bhp, which in such a lightweight and nimble car, offered 105mph and 0-60 in just 9.3 seconds. The car quickly established itself within the emerging hot hatch market and remains a sought after model today. This Mk1 example has been barn stored, is believed to have covered some 32,000 miles from new, and has been off the road since the late 1990s.

Having spent over two decades off the road in storage, it will now require full recommissioning prior to returning to use, offering scope for careful revival.
