The world’s only hardtop convertible in 1958 was the Ford Skyliner in the Fairlane 500 series. The frame-up restoration of this 1958 Skyliner includes refurbishment of the optional Magic Air heater and defroster; full wheel covers; Master Guide power steering; clock; radio; 332-cid, 240-hp Interceptor V-8; three-speed transmission; electrical system and actuating jacks for the retractable hardtop and installation of correct pattern and color upholstery. All brightwork, stainless steel, emblems and gauges have been refurbished. Ford’s folding hardtop mechanism was available only during 1957, 1958 and 1959 model years.
