The Ford Escort was manufactured from 1968 to 2004 and was produced in six different model derivatives. The fourth version of the Ford Escort was launched in March 1986, with only a small number of changes over its predecessor. Optional new features included a mechanical anti‐lock braking system, a fuel computer on fuel-injected models and a heated windscreen. These changes were welcome at a time when the Escort was faced with a host of new competitors.
Manufactured on the 11th May 1987 this Radiant Red with Shadow cloth trim example of the desirable XR3i convertible has been privately owned since July 2021 a car he purchased after fondly remembering the car from new and has been garaged when not in use ever since. In 2024 a new windscreen and tyres were fitted and the hood was replaced in 2001 thus in good condition importantly. Offered with a new MoT certificate until September 2026 a great piece of 80’s/90’s nostalgia. Consigned by Mathew Priddy
