This 1989 Ford Econoline E-150XL is a re-creation of the Mutt Cuts "Shaggin' Wagon" used in the 1994 film "Dumb and Dumber." Released in 1994, "Dumb and Dumber" was directed by Peter Farrelly and based on the screenplay he co-wrote with his brother, Bobby Farrelly, and Bennett Yellin. The first installment in the "Dumb and Dumber" franchise, the film co-starred Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, chronicling the story of Lloyd Christmas (Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Daniels), two intellectually challenged but well-meaning friends from Providence, RI, who set out on a cross-country road trip to Aspen, CO, to return a briefcase full of money to its owner, Mary Swanson, played by Lauren Holly.
Many hilarious and often cringe-worthy antics ensue, irrevocably burning "Dumb and Dumber" into the collective memories of millions of viewers and fans. Without doubt, the vehicular star of the show was failing mobile pet groomer Harry's fur-covered "Mutt Cutts" van, replicated very nicely by this 1989 Ford E-150 Econoline, purchased by Dr. Berkowitz in early 2019 and then professionally groomed by All Metal Classics of Caldwell, ID, into this fun and unforgettable tribute to the original movie prop van.
All Metal Classics had already converted a van to this format and the stated goal for this conversion was to duplicate the exterior of this van as closely as possible to the movie van while making the interior very comfortable and passenger-friendly. "Mutt Cutts" signs and window inserts depicting Harry and Lloyd complement the distinctively shaggy exterior of the Econoline, which is complete with the requisite dog's snout frontal motif. A 138-inch wheelbase chassis provides generous room for passengers or cargo, and a proven Ford 5.0-liter V8 engine delivers power to a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission.
