Originally built by Broadspeed of Birmingham, and now powered by a 175bhp, 1,600cc FIAT Twin-Cam, this Anglia race car would make an ideal entry into the world of classic motorsport.
Believed to be a genuine Broadspeed-developed Anglia 105E built around a bespoke box-section spaceframe chassis rather than a standard production shell. Extensively modified body and shell to accommodate a substantial gearbox tunnel, bespoke suspension and a high revving Twin-Cam engine. Front-end fitted with Lotus-derived double wishbone suspension, adjustable coil-overs and a shortened rack for precision and adjustability. Benefits from a disc brake conversion to provide stopping power in line with performance. Powered by a Fiat 1600 Twin-Cam from a 1968 124 Spider, now on motorcycle carburettors and delivering a reported 175bhp.
Engine sits low and well set back in the chassis for improved balance and weight distribution. Transmission is a modified Ford 2000E gearbox with Edmonton Tool & Engineering internals. Supplied with an excellent history file including period racing history, an old MSA Competition Logbook, period photographs, hand-written notes and numerous invoices. Lightweight, uncompromising and race-ready, suitable for historic motorsport, hill climbs or as a rare and fascinating piece of modified Ford history. A raw and rare slice of British motorsport engineering with excellent provenance and remarkable value.
