Introduced roughly four years after the first Ferrari California, the biggest change to the California T was of course the car’s new turbocharged engine. This was big news for tifosi, as it would mark the return of turbocharging in Maranello after a 22-year absence; the last being the legendary F40.

At its heart was an all-new 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Turbocharging was utilized to improve fuel economy, but performance benefitted as well, with a sprint to 60 mph taking just 3.6 seconds. Bodywork was updated to look slightly more aggressive, emulating the F12 Berlinetta. Inside, the cabin of the California T is a lovely place to be for a long road trip and features updated switchgear and infotainment over its predecessor.

Built in December of 2014 and purchased new by the consignor, this California T was delivered though Ferrari of Beverly Hills and has remained with him in Sothern California. Intended to be used as a daily driver, the consignor opted to take a more subtle approach to its color combination in an effort to fly under the radar in Los Angeles traffic. Finished in Nuovo Blu Pozzi, the car sports a two-tone leather interior in matching Blu and Nero leather, with Bianco stitching.

Further options include Scuderia Ferrari shields, the Formula 1-style shift-indicator lights on the steering wheel (wrapped in leather rather than the more-common carbon fiber), 20-in. 10-spoke polished wheels, Daytona-style seat inserts, and finally front and rear parking sensors and cameras to make city-parking a breeze.

The California quickly proved to be one of Ferrari’s most successful models upon its unveiling, and the updates lavished upon the platform with the California T only made the car that much better.
