For a street release, the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Roadster remains one of the best in the Viper family, and this example shows 9,610 enjoyed miles on its odometer as a result. The Viper had come into its own during its first 13 years of production, but the competition was also on the move. Despite changes to both the manufacturing sector and corporate ownership, the brand’s managers turned to F1 experts at both McLaren and Ricardo to facilitate upgrades to this platform following an extended 2006 model year production run and no 2007 release.
As a result of this research and development, the 2008 Viper moved into the realm of supercar, now boasting an 8.4L/600 HP V-10 engine that took advantage of better valvetrain timing, CNC-ported heads, dual throttle bodies and fresh engine bay air circulation, as well as a redesigned exhaust system that reduced cab heat. The latest-design wide-ratio Tremec T6060 6-speed manual transmission and a Dana M44-4 rear axle outfitted with GKN Visco-Lok speed-sensing limited-slip was behind this. Independent wishbone front and rear suspension with a stabilizer bar and coil springs, fast-ratio power steering and power Brembo 4-wheel ABS disc brakes gave the 3,440-pound car new track feel.
Colors were varied, but few were as intense as this choice: Snakeskin Green with black racing stripes. Even the brake calipers are covered in green. The list of standard interior appointments was lengthy, including the black and gray suede-and-leather sport seats, RDS audio with AM/FM/CD equipment, power windows, locks and mirrors, air conditioning, anti-theft protection, a full dashboard/floor center console, height-adjustable pedals, remote trunk/hatch release and more. Of course, Viper identification is highly visible on this body release, leaving no doubt about its origins.
Riding on a set of HRE Performance black wheels wearing sticky Nitto tires, this 2008 snake is the color of envy and the color of money, and it’s now ready for new ownership.
