Finished in Dark Cherry Metallic, this 1995 Impala SS shows just over 10,000 miles on the odometer and is presented in highly original condition. Powered by the 5.7L V-8 engine and an automatic transmission, the exterior features a rear trunk lid spoiler, 5-spoke alloy wheels and the Impala SS signature near-monochrome paint scheme. The gray leather interior features power-adjustable front bucket seats, a center console, power windows, power locks, air conditioning and an AM/FM/Cassette stereo system. Power steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes make the imposing cruiser infinitely easier to handle and enjoy.
For 1994, Chevrolet would reintroduce the legendary Impala SS name on the full-size, rear-wheel drive B-body platform, which had been redesigned and reintroduced for 1990. In production through the 1996 model year, the Impala SS was available only in three colors—black, Dark Cherry Metallic and Dark Green Gray Metallic. The green would be the rarest hue, with just over 4,000 units made in 1995 and nearly 11,000 examples made for 1996. Dark Cherry would be the second rarest color, with just over 7,000 Impalas finished in the hue for 1995 and about 12,000 for 1996.
Regardless of the color, the Impala SS was an instant hit with the classic muscle car crowd and general car enthusiasts everywhere. It was an old-school throwback to another era of big cube, high torque, front-mounted engine cars with rear-wheel drive. As if that weren’t enough, the new Impala SS carried a stealthy, if not slightly sinister look to match its grunt. By the time production ended, nearly 70,000 Impala SS had been sold, marking it as a successful project.
