This one-owner 1955 Chevrolet 210 Del Ray is powered by an 8-cylinder engine backed by a Powerglide automatic transmission. The exterior is finished in two-tone paint with a front grille and chrome accents. The interior features bench seating, a radio and a heater. This 1955 Chevrolet Delray was purchased in January 1957 as a new demo sold to Mr. and Mrs. Goffard for $1,101. Both teachers, they took a loan from Portland Teachers Credit Union in Portland, OR, to purchase the vehicle and used it for special occasions. Documents that accompany this car include the original title. The Goffards loved the vehicle and kept it in their Portland garage.
In 1993 they decided to restore this Del Ray completely, including sandblasting the vehicle down to bare metal, back to original. This car is finished in a Creamsicle exterior with a matching interior that features the original factory product - even the radio works. The heater control, knobs and lights are original and function just like brand-new. Every piece of this vehicle, including the shocks and springs, was checked and brought to factory spec by Benz Springs Company in Portland. It was reassembled back to original and looks brand-new. No expense was spared. This Del Ray includes over 250 pages of receipts from 1957, totaling over $60,000.
The Goffards also kept every spare factory part as a backup, which are located in the trunk and included with the sale.
