Having recently emerged from a professional restoration by San Tan Hot Rod Restorations in Queen Creek, Arizona, this 1990 Chevrolet K5 Blazer is finished in GM Mojave Beige with a Sunset Gold Metallic side stripe. Sitting on a 6-inch lift with Rally wheels and new Cooper Evolution M/T 35×12.5×15 tires, the Blazer provides a commanding driving position and has been appointed with a new windshield and wind wings with upgraded slider quarter windows in the restored removeable top. Furthering the refurbished condition, the K5 received new rubbers and seals, new trim, bumpers and brightwork, and new headlights, tail lights and marker lights.
Powered by a 350 CI V-8 engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission and High/Low 4-wheel drive with freewheeling hubs, the undercarriage was dry ice detailed. Meanwhile, the new Saddle Tan interior is fitted with bucket seats, a center console, an updated Sony radio, air conditioning, a tilt steering column and cruise control. Drivers will appreciate the power steering and power brakes, while a tow hitch will make it easier to hookup a trailer and head to points unknown ready for adventure. When the Blazer was introduced in 1969, it was a direct competitor to the Ford Bronco, International Harvester Scout, Toyota Land Cruiser, Land Rover and Jeep Wagoneer.
It offered customers a unique blend of amenities and utilitarian values, merging the philosophies of the smaller, more archaic off-road vehicles with comfort and amenities more in line with the larger, more expensive offerings. A strong seller, the Blazer sustained production through the mid-1990s, when the four-door Tahoe replaced it.
