Finished in blue with a matching, full-length vinyl top and leather interior, this 1991 Cadillac Brougham is equipped with the 5.7L V-8 engine and an automatic transmission. With just under 54,500 miles on the odometer, it presents beautifully. Rolling on Hankook white-stripe tires with steel wheels, the wire wheel covers feature the burgundy centers with the crest-and-wreath Cadillac symbol. The interior coddles occupants with power leather seats, power windows, power locks, electronic climate control and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system. Drivers will appreciate the tilt steering column, cruise control and digital instrument panel. For 1987, Cadillac shook up a bit of its nomenclature.
With the new, front-wheel drive Fleetwood in showrooms, the larger, more traditional rear-wheel drive Fleetwood Brougham became simply Brougham. Retaining similar styling to the 1977 to 1986 Fleetwood Brougham, the Brougham underwent several subtle changes, the most dramatic occurring in 1990 with a new grille, large, single-piece composite headlights, restyled tail lights, and lower body cladding that blended with the front and rear bumpers. Inside, a new digital instrument cluster appeared. A fuel-injected 5.7L/185 HP V-8 engine become available as an option, with the 5.0L/170 HP V-8 engine remaining as standard.
It’s been said the 5.7L-equipped cars used a heavy-duty suspension and employed only steel wheels with wire disc covers to accommodate the additional torque. A d’Elegance package was available for a whopping $2,372, which provided special, button-tufted leather seating surfaces, taking the Brougham further upmarket. An all-new Brougham was introduced for 1993, marking the end of an era.
