This 1950 Buick Sedanette is an extraordinary custom build that took three years to complete and involved the renewal or replacement of every single nut, bolt and screw. The frame was modified with a 1968 Chevrolet Nova front subframe and received a 1969 Chevelle rear end, 4-wheel disc brakes and an electronically remote-controlled Shock Wave Air Ride suspension system. An engine turned aluminum fuel tank was also installed along with fully polished and louvered aluminum belly pans to protect the painted and detailed undercarriage. A new GM Ram Jet 502/510 HP crate engine was installed and mated to a CompuShift-controlled 4L85E electronic automatic transmission.
Attention to detail and a high level of craftsmanship are evident in the Buick’s luxurious interior, where occupants are greeted with two-tone leather upholstery complementing the car’s Cream and Copper paint. While the stock dash was retained for its evocative period design, Vintage Air and an AM/FM stereo have been added along with electronic gauges and remote controls for the power windows, Air Ride suspension and trunk release. Leather is used for the headliner and trunk, which also has an engine turned removable panel for access to the battery, Air Ride system and remote control system.
