From the immediate postwar years through the 1950s, General Motors’ Buick Division led the entire automobile industry in styling, engineering and sales, offering something for every budget and taste. Towering above them all at the dawn of the '50s was the Roadmaster, whose toothy cascading grille and front bumper design, quad “Ventiports” and curvaceous shape have made it an American automotive icon. Restored to a very high standard by a prominent Buick collector, this 1950 Roadmaster Model 76C convertible exhibits superior craftsmanship in every respect. The car’s exceptionally straight body panels show excellent fit and gaps, with no signs of previous body damage.

The paint is described as near perfect, having been color sanded and polished to a mirror-like finish accented by brilliant chrome and bright trim. The undercarriage and mechanicals are similarly well-finished, the highly detailed engine compartment housing the dependable Fireball Dynaflash 320 CI Straight Eight engine followed by Buick’s self-shifting Dynaflow automatic transmission, both rebuilt for reliable performance. Luxurious accommodations were as much a part of the Roadmaster’s success as its styling and engineering.

The new Beige canvas power soft top works flawlessly, opening to reveal a two-tone Red and Beige interior incorporating high quality leather and carpets, properly functioning power windows and front seat, push button radio and controls for the cowl-mounted spotlights. Sparkling as new, this 1950 Roadmaster’s genuine Kelsey Hayes wire wheels and wide Whitewall radial tires by Coker include a matching spare and jack, which are joined in the spacious trunk by a six-disc CD changer.
