The letter M signifies more than four decades of Bavarian Motor Works motorsports heritage, and this 2014 BMW M6 Coupe has traveled just 148 miles since it left the factory outfitted with a special-ordered one-of-a-kind color combination, the Competition Package, M carbon-ceramic brakes and best-in-class Executive Package interior appointments. The race-engineered creation was factory equipped with a carbon-fiber roof exclusive to the M coupe that is roughly half the weight of steel, resulting in a lower center of gravity to extract maximum advantage from M group equipment and tuning expertise.
The 4.4L V-8 incorporates dual intercoolers and twin turbochargers tuned with higher pressure in the upper RPM range for 575 HP and 500 lb-ft of torque available from 1,500 to 6,000 RPM. Power is channeled through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters and remapped Active M rear differential. Suspension, three-mode dynamic-damper control, M Dynamic Mode and steering response were competition calibrated, and optional M carbon-ceramic brakes dispatch 42 pounds of unsprung weight for superior handling and stopping. Gold-finish M-logo calipers lurk behind staggered-width 20-inch M double-spoke black-finish alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
Sakhir Orange Metallic exterior finish joins a special-ordered interior with Sakhir Orange leather dashboard, upper door panels, center console and heated M steering wheel with black double stitching. The Executive Package features soft-close automatic doors, handcrafted heated and ventilated seats, a power tailgate, keyless entry, automatic climate control, power sunshades and a heads-up display. Driver Assistance Plus is a collection of convenience, safety and infotainment technologies augmented by an optional 1,200-watt Bang and Olufsen sound system with a retractable center speaker.
