BMW's fifth generation 3 Series was launched to critical acclaim in 2005, initially in saloon and estate body styles that were followed a year later by the handsome coupe and convertible. The E90 generation continued BMW's tradition of being the best driving car in its segment, and the model brought two innovations – BMW's first use of a folding metal hard top for the convertible, and the use of naturally aspirated V8 power in the storming M3. A vast range of engines were available, from nimble fours through to a twin turbocharged straight-six in the 335i.

First registered on June 6, 2005, this BMW was subsequently registered in the name of the first owner's wife, who kept the car until 2022, when it passed to its current and second owner (with the used car purchase invoice on file).
