When iconic British manufacturer Bentley was acquired by Volkswagen in 1998, the German parent company invested heavily in upgrading Bentley’s manufacturing abilities at its ancestral home in Crewe, England, without diminishing its reputation for hand-built excellence. Long known for its luxurious, yet sporting, grand tourers like the Bentley Continental, at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2015, Bentley veered from tradition and unveiled an entirely new SUV: the Bentley Bentayga.
Based on the Volkswagen Group’s MLB platform shared with the Porsche Cayenne and the Lamborghini Urus, the Bentayga was a spacious, luxurious SUV powered by Bentley’s unique 6.0L twin-turbocharged W-12 engine that produced 600 HP and 664 lb-ft of torque. Coupled to a permanent all-wheel drive system with a central Torsen self-locking differential, the Bentayga could launch up to seven passengers from zero to 60 MPH in 4 seconds, all while in the lap of leather and wood-grain luxury. This luxurious 2018 Bentley Bentayga is finished in blue with a two-tone blue and white leather interior.
