The Bentley Azure made its debut in March 1995 at the Geneva Motor Show. Built on the Bentley Continental R chassis, which was introduced in 1991, the Azure brought a new element of topless motoring back to Bentley. The first year saw only nine produced, with 251 completed in 1996. Priced at $348,000 it was not for the financially faint of heart, keeping production low, which served both Bentley and its clients well. Pininfarina helped in many areas of production and construction, including in the creation of the top and crafting of the body shell in Italy from parts produced in England. The Azure weighed in at 5,750 pounds, and was 210 inches long, marking it as a massive vehicle.
The 6.75L V-8 packed a Garrett intercooled turbo and could propel the car to 60 MPH in about six seconds, and top out around 150 MPH. Considering the size of the car, this was an astonishing accomplishment. In 2003, the last Azure rolled out of the Crewe factory, with only 1,403 total units produced. This Azure is a specially ordered Tourer with factory five-spoke Brooklands racing wheels and new touring radial tires. Painted Royal Crest Blue, the Azure has an interior of Magnolia-colored leather and a Dark Blue top.
The car has benefit from an upgraded Alpine NVDA101 entertainment system with navigation and DVD player, and will be sold with the books, manuals, window sticker, tool kit, white gloves and trunk-mounted umbrellas.
