The original Audi C5 RS 6 Quattro was the top-of-the-line user of the Volkswagen Group C5 platform and was initially available as a five-door five-seat Avant - Audi's name for an estate or station wagon. Derived from the Audi C5 A6 the RS 6 also shares the aluminium structure from the firewall and forward with the C5 A6s with V8 engines. Official performance figures for the Avant, 0 - 62.1 mph in 4.6 seconds, reaching 124.3 mph in 22.8 seconds. Official figures state an electronically limited top speed 155.3 mph, although most ‘RS’ owners report that the speed limiter is rather liberal on all RS cars, with genuine 'limited' top speeds of 167.8 mph being possible to achieve.

First registered in April 2004, this RS6 Avant is finished in the attractive hue of Mugello Blue Pearl with brushed aluminium-effect door mirror covers, over a black cabin with contrasting cream leather upholstery, featuring a black Alcantara headlining, Recaro seats, embossed ‘RS6’ lettering on the seat backs and wood veneer trim inlays. Under the bonnet sits a twin-turbocharged 4.2-litre V8, delivering around 444bhp to all four wheels via a five-speed ZF automatic transmission with paddle shift. The factory specification includes front and rear parking sensors, headlamp washers, an Audi Navigation plus media system with satellite navigation, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, electrically adjustable heated front seats, heated rear seats, and a Bose sound system including boot-mounted 6 CD autochanger.

The car comes with all the owner’s manuals with a black leather wallet, two key fobs, a hard-back sales brochure, the box for the RS6 keyring, all tools, the V5C, the fully stamped service booklet and an extensive collection of maintenance invoices, MOT certificates and print-outs. Having always been serviced by the original supplying dealer, Finchley Road Audi, the most recent inspection was carried out in September 2022 at 47,370 miles, which also included an engine oil service and new brake fluid, previously in October 2020 at 41,930 miles which included a new timing belt and water pump.
