The Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Final Edition marked the swan song of one of Alfa’s most distinctive sports saloons of the 1990s. The 155 had already carved out a reputation thanks to its sharp Italian design and impressive motorsport pedigree, particularly in touring car racing, where it dominated championships across Europe. By the late 1990s, however, Alfa Romeo were preparing to replace it with the 156, so the Final Edition served as a special farewell to the model, aimed at true enthusiasts. At its heart was the legendary 2.5 litre ‘Busso’ V6 engine, an all-aluminium masterpiece celebrated for its smooth power delivery, distinctive intake note and unmistakable exhaust sound.
The Final Edition produced around 190bhp, channelled through a five-speed manual gearbox to the front wheels. The Final Edition stood out visually with subtle but purposeful upgrades. Unique alloy wheels, sportier bumpers, and special badging set it apart from earlier versions. Inside, buyers found high-quality upholstery, often in leather or Alcantara, along with Final Edition plaques emphasising exclusivity.
This Alfa Romeo is owned by a fastidious and knowledgeable vendor who is thinning down his collection. It presents very well with unmarked red coachwork and very tidy grey interior. This is a rare 155 with a wide body. It was originally registered in Japan and has a good service history from Japan as well as its complete history since it has been in the UK. This excellent left hand drive 155 has recently undergone some light recommissioning, including a cambelt change and detailing. This is number 170 out of 250 Final Edition examples manufactured. Supplied with a V5 registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 21st July 2026 and history folder.
These are fabulous cars to drive, with impressive handling and a particularly evocative exhaust note. Today, the Final Edition is sought-after not only for its rarity but also for the timeless character of the Busso V6, making it one of the most evocative and collectible sports saloons of its era.
