The Freelander 8, the upcoming SUV from Chery-JLR, has just received another wave of interior details — and this time the focus is on its computing power, cabin storage, sound system and third-row layout. Chinese outlet Autohome shared the fresh information as the model continues its 30-city dealership roadshow across China, building on details revealed earlier this month. What exactly makes this cabin tick?

At the core sits the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8397 chip, said to triple CPU performance and multiply NPU power twelvefold versus the older Snapdragon 8295. Huawei's Qiankun ADS driver-assistance system rounds out the tech stack. Paired with the already-known 46.3-inch panoramic display and 17.3-inch rear ceiling screen, the cockpit gets dual crystal rotary controls, open-pore wood trim, recycled aluminum accents and Nappa leather. Storage-wise, there's a 22-liter console box and a 7.3-liter glovebox locked by passcode, plus twin 50 W wireless chargers with air cooling.

The second row — nicknamed the "Downton Abbey Living Room" — impresses further: the right captain's chair reclines 145 degrees with a four-way leg rest, and both seats offer heating, ventilation and 16-point massage. Could this be the most pampering second row in its class? Add tray tables, USB-C mirroring ports, a -6°C to 50°C cooling box, and a 23-speaker Harman Kardon system with 7.1.4 sound — this cabin doesn't skimp.

Even the third row gets attention: 960 mm of headroom under a glass "Skylight Corridor," plus heated and ventilated seats — rare for a third row. But will all this tech justify the price tag once the SUV launches in August? With the 5,118 mm long, 2,050 mm wide body confirmed earlier, only pricing remains a mystery.
